With holiday season upon us, I would like to take this opportunity to inform you of all the fun holiday activities in our community, some as early as TONIGHT!

I am happy to report that this holiday season will be a much smoother ride for travelers! The DOT has announced that this ramp bridge connecting Governor Street to Route 2 Eastbound will be opened this afternoon.

Looking to support your local economy? Help a Mom & Pop! Small business Saturday is Nov. 26. We have great local shops, restaurants and boutiques in Manchester, East Hartford, and South Windsor, all of which depend on brisk sales during the holiday season.

I am pleased to announce the General Assembly has approved a deal with Sikorsky Aircraft, which has made its home in Stratford since 1929, to remain in the state until at least 2032.

I am pleased to announce that I have earned the distinction of achieving a 100% voting record during the 2016 Connecticut General Assembly.

As we enter the month of July, I again want to spread the word about an important resource to ensure that no child goes hungry this summer. Free summer meals for kids and teens 18 years of age and under are available at sites across Connecticut.  End Hunger Connecticut has created an interactive map that shows every location in the state where free summer meals are offered.

On Monday, I attended a forum at Silva's Youth of Today Childcare Learning Center in East Hartford put on by Parent Power and the CT Early Childhood Alliance to discuss the changes for the Care4Kids program.

The Office of Early Childhood (OEC) announced today that it has found a way to ensure families currently enrolled in the Care4Kids program continue to receive the child care subsidy as long as they meet the current income eligibility requirement.
