School Recess Bill Advances
I am over the moon that our recess bill HB 7250 has passed the House and on to the Senate for consideration.
Unfortunately the bill we passed, is not as strong as I wanted it to be, which means I have more work to do next session, but allows schools (not mandate) to add in a 20 min of unstructured play time for elementary students (K-5) and sets up a task force to study what a full statewide program would look like.
Special thanks to State Representative Liz Linehan State Representative Geoff Luxenberg for their hard work championing this bill. I hope we can continue to work together to make it even stronger next session.
