Wrong Way Detection Installations in Greater Hartford

Dear Neighbor,
 
The Connecticut Department of Transportation's Bi-Annual Maintenance Inspection and Recertification of Wrong Way Driver sites on I-84 eastbound at exit 40 in West Hartford will conclude tomorrow, September 13, from 7:00 pm to 5:00 am.
 
Wrong-way crashes have unfortunately become a more frequent occurrence. These accidents have impacted individuals throughout the state, myself included.  My friend Melvin Wells was killed in a wrong way accident in 2019. During the 2023 session, I introduced legislation that was signed into law that will help prevent and reduce wrong-way accidents. It is wonderful that the state has committed to a project that will help save lives in the future.
