Rep. Gresko Appointed Vice Chair Of Environment Committee

January 3, 2019

I’m proud to have been re-appointed by Speaker of the House Joe Aresimowicz (D-Berlin) to serve as Vice Chair of the Environment Committee.

The committee has cognizance of all matters relating to environmental policy, including conservation, recreation, pollution control, fisheries and game, state parks and forests, water resources and flood and erosion control; and all matters relating to the Department of Agriculture, including farming, dairy products and domestic animals.

“I am honored that Speaker Aresimowicz has asked me to continue to help lead this important committee,” Rep. Gresko said. “The Environment Committee vice chairmanship provides me with an outstanding opportunity to fight important battles for Long Island Sound and the Stratford coastline.”

Speaker Aresimowicz said, “Joe’s passion and belief in protecting the environment is extraordinary. He has been an advocate for the Sound, an advocate for open space and an advocate for recycling. I am very pleased to have Joe on my team.”

In addition to serving as Vice Chair of the Environment Committee, Rep. Gresko has been appointed to the Energy and Technology Committee and the Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee.

The entire membership of the General Assembly will be sworn into office on January 9th at the State Capitol in Hartford during the opening day ceremony of the 2019 session.
