Wrong Way Driver Detection Installation in Danbury

Dear Neighbor,

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) announced that Wrong Way Driver Detection Installations will be performed on I-84 at Exit 2 eastbound and Exit 8 westbound in Danbury. This project is scheduled to occur on Wednesday, March 12. The project consists of installation of the wrong way driver system on I-84 Eastbound, Exit 2 in Danbury.

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO

I-84 at Exit 2 Eastbound

The ramp will be closed on Wednesday, March 12, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Traffic will be detoured as follows: Take I-84 eastbound at Exit 4; right on to Lake Avenue Ext; right onto I-84 westbound; Exit 2B.

I-84 at Exit 8 Westbound

The ramp will be closed on Wednesday, March 12 from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Traffic will be detoured as follows: Take a right onto Stony Hill Road; left onto Greys Bridge; left onto Federal Road; onto I-84. Trucks will be detoured Route 6 to Route 25 onto I-84 at Exit 9.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
