House Votes To Adopt State Water Plan

June 7, 2019

Water is our most precious natural resource and must be protected and preserved for future generations.

Because in the past Connecticut has not had a cohesive policy, my colleagues and I in the House took a significant step to safeguard our water supply.

In 2014, the General Assembly called on the Water Planning Council to develop a State Water Plan. Their final report was submitted to the legislature, and now that plan has been adopted.

We know the state water plan is essential to protecting our waterworks from private companies and big business. The Plan is not the solution to the problem but composed of forward thinking steps to help frame future laws and regulations.

Water is a necessary valuable source of life and a public trust. Every Connecticut resident is entitled to clean water.
