Rep. Haddad Recognizes Doctor Neil Moynihan of Storrs as a Community Hero

April 29, 2020

Mansfield, Conn. - Earlier this month, State Representative Gregory Haddad (D-Mansfield) issued a call for nominations of individuals in Mansfield who are going above and beyond, working and volunteering to help the community through the challenges of social distancing under Covid-19.

This week's honoree is Dr. Neil Moynihan. Dr. Moynihan works in the Emergency Room at Windham Hospital.

“Our doctors are on the frontlines of this crisis and it goes without saying that our community is indebted to health care workers like Dr. Moynihan,” Rep. Haddad said. "While most of us work hard to maintain social distance, Dr. Moynihan and his colleagues move closer. Thank you for all that you are doing to care for our community."

Jeannette, who nominated Neil, wrote; “Neil goes in for his shift at the hospital each day prepared for the worst, but always with a positive attitude. He is always available to answer questions in his patient and caring manner.”

Dr. Moynihan’s dedication and sense-of-humor is on full display in the photo Jeannette sent along with her nomination; “Neil - and his car - are ready to battle the novel virus for another day.”

Previous nominees include, Louis Goffinet. Rep. Haddad is still accepting nominations for community heroes. Those who have a nominee in mind can send in a photo, name, and a few sentences about why they are nominating a community hero to Gregory.Haddad@cga.ct.gov
