Drivers traveling through Waterbury can expect delays on I-84 East and local roadways for critical road work to improve safety in our community.
What's Happening
Crews have permanently closed the Exit 21 off-ramp and are removing it. At the same time, the Connecticut Department of Transportation is extending the auxiliary lane from the Route 8 northbound ramp to the Exit 22 off-ramp, which will help reduce congestion.
Additional Safety Improvement
Crews are also upgrading traffic signals and pedestrian crossing timing at several intersections across the city to make streets safer.
Areas Affected Drivers may deal with daily lane and shoulder closures on I-84 East near Exit 22 and nearby roadways, including: |
