Waterbury Food Drive & CT Named 15th Best State

May 27, 2025

The House of Representatives is meeting regularly in the chamber to vote on bills to improve our state. The days are filled with intense debate while we collaborate to advance important legislation for our communities and beyond.

We are also hard at work in Waterbury with a community food drive, cleanup event, and much more. Please keep scrolling to view pictures and descriptions from those outings.

Lastly, Connecticut finished as the 15th best state in a new finding from U.S. News & World Report! Read below to see why our state did so well.

Here are the sections in today's email:

  • Waterbury Food Drive
  • Earth Day Cleanup
  • Walk for Multiple Sclerosis
  • CT Ranked 15th Best State in the Country According to U.S. News & World Report

Waterbury Food Drive

It was a pleasure to join the community in donating food to the St. Vincent DePaul Soup Kitchen & Pantry last weekend. The Waterbury Delegation was proud to assist this amazing organization that supports those who are in need.

We accepted all kinds of donations including rice, pasta, cooking oil, and instant mashed potatoes. Thank you to all those who came out to support our food drive!

Earth Day Cleanup

My wife Lysa and I participated in Waterbury’s annual Earth Day cleanup. This is a meaningful way to give back to our community and protect our planet. Every small act from picking up litter, to planting a tree, and reducing waste adds up. Let’s keep working together to protect the environment, not just on Earth Day, but every day.

Walk for Multiple Sclerosis

We were honored to walk alongside so many inspiring individuals for Walk MS 2025. We joined Teams Shugs in honor of my wonderful late Uncle Brian Sugrue.

This experience is a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when we come together—for awareness, for research, and for everyone affected by Multiple Sclerosis. Together, we’re stepping toward a future without MS.
