Dear Friends and Neighbors,
The entire community is invited to a special homecoming celebration honoring Southington's hometown Olympian, Austin Florian. I am proud to host this event as we welcome Austin back home to Mount Southington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27. Several of Austin's former coaches, state officials, and his family and friends will be on hand to recognize his incredible work ethic, perseverance, and dedication to the sport of skeleton racing.
Adding to the excitement, Austin will share a close-up look at his Olympic helmet, speed suit, and bib. Additionally, he will sign autographs for fans of all ages!
Austin finished 12th in the men's singles skeleton and 7th in the skeleton mixed team event, where he recorded a personal best time and the fastest start of the night. Our community could not be prouder of the way Austin represented Southington and the United States on the world stage, competing with determination, grace, and true hometown pride.
