Early voting options are now available thanks to the work of the Connecticut General Assembly last session, and later this month, voters in the state will take to the polls to vote in the 2024 presidential primary.

A reminder to please join me tomorrow, March 8 from 3-5pm at the State Capitol for EmpowHer - a women's safety and resources summit.

This event - celebrating International Women's Day - will feature a panel discussion, safety & survivor resources, a self-defense demo, recognitions, performances, and more.

In this week's eblast, I want to tell you about some of the work I've been doing at the Capitol to empower and protect women, and also invite you to an event next week recognizing International Women's Day and providing some amazing resources and entertainment for you.

It has been a while since I've sent out an email update, so I hope you'll take the time to look through all of the important information below.

Today we approved $17 million in additional cold weather heating assistance funds – many residents and families who receive assistance through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) or Operation Fuel will have access to funds to ensure they can heat their homes through the cold weather season.

On Thursday, Feb. 22 at 7pm, the Connecticut Department of Transportation is conducting a virtual public information meeting about the rehabilitation of the Bissell Bridge carrying I-291 over the Connecticut River between South Windsor and Windsor.

If you're struggling to pay utility bills, Operation Fuel may be able to help.

Operation Fuel's energy assistance program opened this week for the Winter/Spring season. Applications will be accepted until March 1 unless available funds run out before that date.
