There are more updates from a busy June, and we celebrated an important Juneteenth holiday.

It's the month of June, meaning we have Pride Month to Celebrate, new legislation to go over, and even more.

As we head into Memorial Day weekend, I would like to highlight some great bills we recently passed honoring our veterans’ sacrifice and service to our country, and recognizing the need to support them when they return home.

It’s a wrap! After a packed week, yesterday was the end of session. I'm proud to say we passed a bipartisan spending stabilization plan that ensures our two-year state budget's historic tax cuts are protected, respected our fiscal guardrails, and used federal ARPA money for vital needs.

We are heading into the final few days of the session and bills are coming before us in rapid succession. Two bills in particular I was really happy to see pass were HB 5058 and HB 5197. These bills allow Connecticut to become part of the Nurse Licensure Compact and the Social Worker Compact.

The most important part of my job is advocating for my district. Before the start of session, Representatives Arzeno, Meskers and I were made aware of an important traffic safety project along the Glenville Corridor that had been put on hold due to lack of funding.

In 2023, the impact of extreme weather in Connecticut was widespread: flooding and late-season freezes that devastated crops, increased inland and coastal flooding, and record high temperatures. Preparing for and protecting our state from the effects of climate change will take a concerted effort, which is why I'm pleased to highlight another bill I co-sponsored.
