In 2023, the impact of extreme weather in Connecticut was widespread: flooding and late-season freezes that devastated crops, increased inland and coastal flooding, and record high temperatures. Preparing for and protecting our state from the effects of climate change will take a concerted effort, which is why I'm pleased to highlight another bill I co-sponsored.

In my conversations with constituents, I keep hearing how the high cost of housing is hurting us: first responders or teachers are unable to live in the community in which they work; businesses bypass CT because workers can’t afford to live here; grown kids move out of state or seniors leave because they can’t afford to stay.

There is still one day left to vote early in the Presidential Primary. It’s this Saturday, March 30.

Our session is in full swing and we’ve participated in many hours of public hearings and bills are making it out of committee. There are many bills I am proud to co-sponsor.

I am thrilled to share news about my efforts to promote the health and well-being of our community’s families and children. In response to the vital need for improved childhood nutrition, legislators are working on comprehensive legislation to ensure mothers and children who are eligible for federal benefits can enroll in these programs with ease.

Throughout the summer, I had the opportunity to meet and talk to residents in the 149th district. One of the many issues that came up was the Glenville Corridor. In particular, addressing traffic congestion and making it easier for pedestrians to safely enjoy the neighborhood.
