Dear Neighbor,

Happy Friday! I hope you had a wonderful, joy-filled Thanksgiving, and that the first day of December(!) is going well. In this week's eblast, you can read about an event regarding our prescription drug discount program, supporting local businesses, and more. You can click on the links below to navigate between sections.

Prescription Drug Discount Event with Comptroller Scanlon
You may have heard about Connecticut's recent launch of ArrayRx, the prescription drug discount card program. On Monday, December 11 from 11am-1pm at the Bigelow Center for Senior Activities (100 Mona Terrace, Fairfield), the Fairfield Delegation will be joined by State Comptroller Sean Scanlon for an event to learn more about the program.

Connecticut residents can save up to 80% off certain prescriptions at nearly all pharmacies in the state. There's no cost, age restriction, or income restriction to join. To sign up, please click HERE.

The program is part of Public Act 23-171, An Act Protecting Patients and Prohibiting Unnecessary Health Care Costs, a bill I proudly supported.

For more information on ArrayRx, including a drug price lookup tool, visit arrayrxcard.com. I hope you'll join us on Monday!

Swearing In of Local Fairfield Officials
Congratulations to everyone who was sworn in this week to serve our beautiful town. I am so excited to work with you all and support you in whatever way I can.

A special congratulations and thank you to Bill Gerber and Christine Vitale for your willingness to run and share your vision for our collective future and for all the work you will put in now that you’re elected. Thank you also to Brenda Kupchick for all that you put into our community over the past 4 years.

Thank you Nancy Lefkowitz for your service to Fairfield and all the work you put in to make the ceremony so moving.

Lastly, thank you to everyone who was willing to step up and put their name on the ballot and contribute to strengthening our democracy just by the act of running. Whatever the outcome, it is brave and it is meaningful to run. Thank you.

I am so excited to work together and create an even better and brighter future.

    Sticks for Soldiers
This year's Sticks for Soldiers was a sobering and inspiring event. Over 30 lacrosse teams came together to raise money for wounded servicemen and their families, and to raise awareness among our young people.

This year's honoree was SPC Reda Said of the Massachusetts Army National Guard. At 22, Reda was struck by an M915A3 motor vehicle tractor when returning from training, which resulted in his left arm being amputated. But Reda's purpose in life, family, and faith helped him persist, and despite his struggles, he continues to fight for what he believes in.

If anyone in this world is a hero, it is Reda. You can read his story in full here.

Thank you to Bob Vitale, president of this organization and organizer of this event, and the 30+ teams that participated this year.

In this time of giving, I hope you will consider donating to this amazing cause if you can. To donate, please click here.

Small Business Saturday and Holiday Shop and Stroll
I had such a great time at this year's Small Business Saturday. Touring local businesses and seeing all of the hardworking, amazing business owners in Fairfield is a great reminder of what makes our community so great.
I hope you will support our wonderful local businesses this holiday season, and there is no better opportunity to start than the Holiday Shop & Stroll this Wednesday, December 6 from 6-9pm. There will be special discounts at participating stores, and you can find the latest fashion apparel, home décor, jewelry, toys, sporting goods, dinner gift cards, best-selling books, and more! You can view all participating merchants, see an event map, and learn about the pre-event happy hour and post-event after-party here. Supporting small businesses in the holiday season really makes a difference, and the quality can't be beat!

Annual Winter Whimsy and Tree Lighting
A final reminder that tomorrow, December 2 from 4:15-7pm, the Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department is hosting their Winter Whimsy and Annual Tree Lighting! The event will be held at the Old Town Hall & Museum Commons, and features food trucks, a beer garden, music, a petting zoo, pictures with Santa, and more! The tree will be lit at 5pm this year.
