In the wake of the shooting death of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, I want to reiterate that there is no place for violence in our democracy — against anyone.

Having just celebrated the holiday, I wanted to share this Labor Day statement from the Democratic members of the Labor and Public Employees Committee.

I write today to express my unequivocal support for State Representative Corey Paris. Last week, Rep. Paris issued a simple message on social media: to remain vigilant in light of reports of ICE activity, and to look out for one another. His message was rooted in compassion and concern for his community.

I am proud to share that for the 2025 legislative session, I received a 93% voting score from, and was named new voice of the environment of the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters in its 2025 Environmental Scorecard.

As you know, the heat is no joke. Connecticut’s Extreme Hot Weather Protocol is in effect from Today, July 15, through Friday, July 18.

I won't sugarcoat it. From our governor vetoing two excellent bills -- one on housing, one extending worker's rights -- to extremely troubling Supreme Court decisions and the Big Ugly Bill coming out of Washington, these are some very challenging times.

Tomorrow, June 19th, is Juneteenth.

Juneteenth celebrates the end of slavery in our country.
