UNASWCT invites students to join Mother Earth Day contest

I wanted to draw your attention to this cool Mother Earth Day contest organized by the United Nations Association of Southwest Connecticut and open to all local students in hopes of spreading the U.N.'s message - that the Earth and its ecosystems are our home - by submitting contest entries digitally or illustrated by hand.

Submissions are due by April, 16, 2020 and cash prizes will be awarded: 1st prize: $300 - 2nd prize: $150 - 3rd prize: $75.

Entries will be judged by UNASWCT committee. Participants receive a Certificate of Appreciation. Entries published at www.unaswct.org

Southwestern Connecticut Chapter of the United Nations Association (www.UNASWCT.org) advocates and supports U.N. programs to preserve the global environment. We encourage student participation in education and community building to address global warming and the myriad effects of climate change such as migration, famine, social upheaval and rising sea levels. Students are invited to creatively promote United Nations' sustainable development goals, legal protections for nature, efforts to preserve biodiversity, the findings of International Panel on Climate Change or other UN initiative related to global warming.

DO USE content and ideas from organizations like UN Agencies- Programmes-Funds, thought leaders or educators.
