CVS Testing site in Stamford, more citywide
Helping our community stay safe and contain the spread of COVID-19 is a top priority of mine as a State Representative of Stamford.
Finally, I am pleased to announce that CVS Health will be adding more Pharmacy Drive-thru testing sites beginning Friday, May 22, including the location at 1938 West Main Street and 229 Hope Street.
Increasing the availability of testing is a critical step in our ability to manage the disease and mitigate risk so that we can begin to implement plans to safely reopen the economy.
This second wave of additional sites will use self-swab tests and will be available to individuals meeting Centers for Disease Control and Prevention criteria, in addition to age guidelines.
Patients must register in advance at CVS.com beginning Friday, May 22nd to schedule an appointment.
The process is as follows:
Patients will be required to stay in their cars and directed to the pharmacy drive-thru window where they will be provided with a test kit and given instructions; a CVS Pharmacy team member will observe the self-swab process to ensure it is done properly.
Tests will be sent to an independent, third-party lab for processing and the results will be available in approximately three days.
Please find the hours of operation below:
- Testing will occur 7 days a week, by appointment only and will be based on Minute Clinic hours of operation. Testing will occur:
- Monday-Friday: 9:00am–6:00pm
- Saturday: 9:00am–5:00pm
- Sunday: 10:00am–5:00pm
- Where pharmacy hours are reduced, testing hours will match pharmacy hours of operation
- Testing will only occur while a Minute Clinic provider is on-site and working. MC providers take a break from 1:30-2:30pm Monday-Friday and 1:30-2:00pm on Saturday and Sunday. During this time, no appointments will be scheduled and testing will not occur.
- If a patient arrives for a test during this time, confirm the time of the patient’s scheduled appointment and ask the patient to return at the scheduled time.
- If patient is arriving during this time as a result of being late, the appointment will need to be rescheduled. The patient will receive an email with directions on how to do so ~ 1.5 hours after the scheduled appointment time.
- If a patient arrives for a test during this time, confirm the time of the patient’s scheduled appointment and ask the patient to return at the scheduled time.

Also, I was invited for an In-District visit today while Stamford Health received a donation of 25K masks and some sanitizing equipment.
It was great to be there alongside my good colleagues Senator Carlo Leone and Representative Matt Blumenthal.
We were given a tour of one of the areas where they keep stocks.
I want to thank Stamford Health for inviting us for this visit but also for having helped secure masks to nursing homes in the area for the last few weeks.
