May 20, 2020

Operation Fuel has always been able to help those in need with their energy costs. Amid the COVID-19 emergency, thousands of Connecticut residents are relying on the organization to help manage their energy expenses.

Throughout the pandemic, Operation Fuel has continued its important work to provide energy and utility assistance to households across our state and is offering the following programs to help:

  • Direct bill payments up to $500 for all energy sources: electric, gas utilities, deliverable fuels, oil, propane, kerosene, pellets, wood
  • Direct bill payments up to $500 for water utility in the MDC, CT Water, and Aquarion Water utility territories
  • Grants up to $5,000 for repair/replacement of furnace, boiler, water heater

Those who need utility or energy assistance in relation to COVID-19 should call 2-1-1 to locate a fuel bank, use Operation Fuel's fuel bank finder, or email info@operationfuel.org.

Already Operation Fuel has approved 2,745 applications, including $1.3 million in utility, deliverable fuel, and HVAC vendor payments.

If you would like to help families who need some additional support with their energy costs, please consider donating to Operation Fuel. Donations are vital in ensuring residents who've lost their jobs, their work hours cut, or have had COVID-19-related medical issues can keep their power on.
