East Hartford Public Schools Reopening Plan

July 15, 2020

As the State Department of Education continues to release more guidance for reopening schools across the state, local boards of education have been developing creative solutions that keep students, faculty, and staff safe, while fostering a productive learning environment. East Hartford Public School leaders have released a draft of the district's plan to reopen schools for classroom learning.

As part of its work to finalize the reopening plan and move to the next phase of the process, the district will hold virtual Town Halls tomorrow, Thursday, July 16 to provide parents and guardians and opportunity to learn more about the plan, as well as ask questions and provide feedback.

There will be two virtual Town Halls:

If you have any questions or comments after carefully reading the draft, you may send them to EHPS ReOpening Task Force at ReOpenEHPS@Easthartford.org

This draft aligns with the requirements outlined by the SDE ReOpening Plan,"Adapt, Advance, Achieve: Connecticut's Plan to Learn and Grow Together," released late last month.

The guidelines seek to provide students the opportunity to return to the classroom while safeguarding the health of both students and faculty. Some of the safety measures include: full-time mask-wearing, smaller classrooms, socially-distanced desks, and cohort grouping of students.
