July 17, 2020

State Representative Joseph Gresko (D- 121st District) commended the imminent start of a construction project on Route 113 in Stratford at a news conference Wednesday morning.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT) announced earlier this month that beginning July 19 – a 2.29 stretch of Route 113 from Sikorsky Memorial Airport (where the news conference this morning was held) to Barnum Avenue will undergo long-awaited milling and resurfacing.

“This is great news for the Town of Stratford,” Rep. Gresko said. “For several years now, I have been pushing for this busy and important stretch of road to be resurfaced. I know I speak for the people of Stratford when I say I am grateful to the Department of Transportation for responding to my request to move this project up and for making this a priority.”

According to the Department of Transportation, the milling portion of the project is scheduled to be completed by July 29th, while the resurfacing portion will run from August 2nd through August 14th. All construction will be completed overnight from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
