To address this issue, I introduced legislation that passed the Environment Committee to strengthen the notification requirement for the permitting process of any facility that could adversely affect the environment. Residents need to have a voice and input into decisions that are made and have been made without regard to their neighborhood's well-being.

I would like to thank the Environment Committee, Democratic leadership and the Black and Puerto Rican Caucus for making this bill a part of the Agenda for Equity.
