5th Annual Back-To-School Backpack Giveaway- Register today to get your free backpack filled with school supplies!

EHPS, Office Of Family and Community Partnerships and the Town of East Hartford will be teaming up to offer the 5th annual Backpack giveaway on August 17th,18th,and 19th from 9-12pm at the YMCA o\located at 777 Main Street in East Hartford. School Uniforms
Getting ready for this school year, Looking for Uniforms? Visit JB Pride In East Hartford 70 Tolland Street. Store hours are, Tuesday - Friday 10-5 and Saturday 10-3pm.  They are open and ready to help you find the uniforms you need to be ready for the first day! Raymond Library is offering charging stations for those who lost power and need to charge their phones. Stop by anytime during the day to charge your phone. Please wear a mask and maintain social distancing while you're here. Our WiFi extends into the parking lot. Click here for more information.
 
Teen Tuesday will feature WATERCOLOR ART on August 11 at 3:00 PM! Pick up supplies from the library in advance, and then meet with us on Zoom to create beautiful watercolor designs. Call 860-290-4330 to request supplies and schedule a pickup time.

Dress for Success EMPLOYMENT READINESS PROGRAM

This virtual program is a free 3-week initiative and open to women who are Unemployed or Underemployed and Seeking Employment it will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM. You will need to Zoom to participate. It is Designed to Help You: ➢ Identify your career goals & discover your transferable skills ➢ Create a professional resume and cover letter ➢ Learn interview skills and participate in mock interviews ➢ Transition to the Professional Women’s Group (PWG) ➢ Connect one-on-one with a Career Coach and much more!! To learn more or to enroll in program beginning September 8, 2020 through September 24, 2020, Please Contact: hartfordpwg@dressforsuccess.org or 860.525.5015.  DEADLINE FOR ENROLLMENT IS SEPTEMBER 1.  REQUIREMENTS FOR REFERRING A CLIENT(S): Female, Actively seeking employment, Participate in a Resume Workshop prior to start of program (appointment to be determined), Able to access and download free Zoom on a Computer or Smart Phone, Able to attend all 6 sessions on time, Mock Interview Sessions for the duration of the three weeks, Client Referral Form sent from Partner Agency.  TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS PROGRAM, A CLIENT MUST HAVE: At least 1-year work experience, A functioning email address and personal contact phone number, a Resume. 

Storm CleanUp:  
The East Hartford Transfer Station will be open for additional days this week for disposal of brush; this week only, residents will not need bulky waste permits to dispose of brush at the transfer station.  Click HERE for where to find charging stations and wifi, including the parking lot of East Hartford Public Library. At this time 38% of the town remains without power.
