Rep. Johnson Appointed Deputy Majority Leader

December 3, 2020

I am honored House Majority Leader Jason Rojas (D – East Hartford, Manchester) has appointed me to serve as Deputy Majority Leader for the 2021 legislative session which convenes January 6, 2021.

"Rep. Johnson is a highly respected leader in the House and has an intimate knowledge of the issues our state faces," said Majority Leader Rojas. "Rep. Johnson is particularly focused on issues impacting seniors, health care and tax policy. Rep. Johnson is dedicated to repairing systems and institutions that have created barriers to success for Connecticut’s most underserved residents. I am grateful that she has accepted my invitation to be part of our team."

I want to thank Majority Leader Rojas for entrusting me with this important role. It is an honor and privilege to have this opportunity to work with him, Speaker-designate Ritter, and other incredible leaders to shape policy that moves Connecticut forward. I'm appreciative and energized by this appointment and look forward to working with our new leadership team.

The Deputy Majority Leader is responsible for aiding the Majority Leader with the review and development of policy, the analysis of critical legislation, and with the agenda of the majority party.
