FEMA OFFERING FUNERAL ASSISTANCE FOR DEATHS RELATED TO COVID-19

Starting today, Connecticut residents will be able to apply for funding under the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Funeral Assistance program.

This federally administered program will provide financial assistance to cover certain burial and funeral expenses for deaths related to COVID-19.

To be eligible, the death must have occurred in the United States, including the U.S. territories and the District of Columbia, the death certificate must indicate the death was attributed to COVID-19, and the applicant must be either a U.S. citizen, non-citizen national, or qualified alien who incurred funeral expenses after January 20, 2020. FEMA has released a list of frequently asked questions to help provide greater detail on eligibility.

Those interested should contact FEMA’s call center at 844-684-6333 (TTY: 800-462-7585). The call center is open on Mondays through Fridays between 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

LOST VACCINE CARD?

We all know how difficult it can be to keep track of small pieces of paper and certainly, I know people are concerned they may misplace or lose their COVID-19 Vaccination Card. I suggest taking a picture of it in your phone after your first vaccine and again after your second one. For more tips, see the graphic below.
