Millions in the Budget for Manchester

June 18, 2021

After months of debate and advocacy, the Town of Manchester will receive significant funding under the state budget that passed both the House and Senate chambers last week. By getting more of our hard earned state taxes reinvested back into Manchester - we strengthen our community and provide much needed property tax relief locally.

Manchester Specific Budget Breakdown

In total, the Town of Manchester will receive $42,706,272 in state aid for Fiscal Year 22 and $44,211,606 for Fiscal Year 23, which provides our Town an increase in state aid in both Fiscal Years as seen above.

For Fiscal Year 22 (July 1, 2021 - June 30, 2022) Manchester will receive $40,533,165 in total education aid, a $1.5 million increase from last year, and $42,038,499 for Fiscal Year 23, a $3 million increase from last year.

Our Town will also continue to receive more than $980,000 in "PILOT" funds in both fiscal years for a total of more than $1.96 million. Manchester was able to maintain these funds based on legislation we passed to fund fully the Payment in Lieu of Taxes program that reimburses our town for tax exempt property.
