Millions for Manchester on Bonding Agenda

July 16, 2021
I write to share some good news. In the State Bond Commission's agenda for the July 23 meeting, they have proposed allocating significant funding for Manchester.

First, the Commission's agenda includes the final installment of $20 million for the Crumbling Foundations Assistance Fund, a victory for Manchester that will allow us to continue aiding our town's residents with crumbling foundations. This will conclude the first round of funding, but my colleagues and I secured an additional $100 million for the Crumbling Foundations Assistance Fund for the future. These installments will be utilized by the Connecticut Foundation Solutions Indemnity Company, Inc. to repair crumbling concrete foundations in Manchester and throughout Eastern CT.

Also included in the agenda is a vital $300,000 grant-in-aid to preserve Lombardo's Farm, which is cared for by the Manchester Land Conservation Trust and volunteers.

The 102 acre Farm is a Manchester asset and local treasure that provides residents a location for outdoor recreations in addition to beautiful community gardens, wildlife, and a plant habitat.
