Coordinated Traffic Signal System (CTSS) Set to Begin

Preliminary work activity for the replacement and upgrade of the Coordinated Traffic Signal System (CTSS) on Route 5/15 (Berlin Turnpike) in Berlin, Newington, and Wethersfield is scheduled to start August 1, 2021, as announced by the CT Department of Transportation.

Work will be performed at the following intersections on Route 5/15 in Wethersfield and motorists should anticipate various lane closures:

Int. 159-210 U.S. Route 5 & 15 (Berlin Tpke.) at Arrow Rd. and Pent Rd.

Int. 159-258 U.S. Route 5 & 15 (Berlin Tpke.) at Pawtucket Ave.

Int. 159-249 U.S. Route 5 & 15 Southbound at Route 315 (Berlin Tpke.)

Int. 159-228 U.S. Route 5 & 15 (Berlin Tpke.) at Nott St.

Lane closures on Route 5 and 15 (Berlin Turnpike) may occur overnight Monday to Friday 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. and Saturday and Sunday 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m. Lane closures for ramps, turning roadways and all other project roadways may occur Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m. For more information please go to: https://portal.ct.gov/.../Replacement-and-Upgrade-of-CTSS...
