Mosher Avenue Will Be Closed For Bridge Work Mosher Avenue in Groton will be closed from September 7, 2021, through December 1, 2021 in order to complete construction activities associated with the rehabilitation of Bridge 03903 which carries Mosher Avenue over Amtrak Railroad in Groton. Culvert Replacement on Route 215 The Connecticut Department of Transportation’s (Department) Office of Engineering is developing plans to replace an existing culvert located under Route 215 adjacent to Anderson Marsh and Beebe Cove in Groton. The purpose of this project is to address the deficiencies associated with the existing culvert and endwalls. This project proposes to replace the 60-inch reinforced corrugated pipe culvert with a new precast box culvert. In addition, new headwalls and wingwalls will be constructed at the inlet and outlet of the culvert. The present schedule indicates that the design will be completed in November 2023, with construction anticipated to start in summer 2024, assuming acceptance of the project, availability of funding and receipt of any required right-of-way and environmental permits. |
