2021 Redistricting in Manchester

November 19, 2021

Redistricting is the process by which new congressional and state legislative district boundaries are redrawn every ten years following the completion of the U.S. Census. In Connecticut, a committee made up of equal numbers of Democrats and Republicans is responsible for drawing the lines, and I appreciateĀ all the time and effort these legislators committed to this task.

The new district maps for the Connecticut House of Representatives were unanimously passed on Thursday. As you can see from the map above, the 12th House District was redrawn with some minor changes (Manchester will remain a four-House district town). For the upcoming 2022 legislation session, the previous district map will still be in effect. The new maps will not officially go into effect until the 2022 election next November.
