$3 Million for Center Springs Park Improvements on Bond Agenda

December 20, 2021

Funding for $3 million in improvements to Center Springs Park is on the State Bond Commission meeting agenda, which is "huge" news for Manchester.

The COVID-19 pandemic has reinforced the importance of outdoor spaces, and that is why I fought hard for this funding, which is also an investment in Manchester. I am truly appreciative of Governor Lamont, Speaker Ritter, Majority Leader Rojas and commission members for understanding the value of this project for our town's residents.

Center Springs Park has unrealized potential as a great destination in the heart of Manchester. This funding will improve the entrances to the park plus add more walking paths and other amenities. Now, the Town is able to pursue new features such as amphitheater-style seating, covered picnic areas, an observation deck, repurposing the baseball field, new fitness equipment and a better spot for the park's playground.

The State Bond Commission is set to approve this bond funding during its meeting Tuesday, December 21. The Commission will meet via teleconference at 2 p.m. The meeting also will be broadcast online at www.CT-N.com.
