DOT Update for Danbury and New FairfieldMay 7, 2022
The Connecticut Department of Transportation has announced two projects in Danbury and New Fairfield.
Emergency Tree Work will take place on I-84 Westbound in Danbury, From Exit 5 to Exit 4 on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, to Tuesday April 19, 2022.
The project consists of Emergency Removal of Hazardous Trees on I-84 Westbound in Danbury, from Exit 5 to Exit 4.
Motorists can expect the Right Lane Closure from Exit 5 to Exit 4 with limited access to I-84 from the Exit 4 westbound on-ramp. Traffic control signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
A Guide Rail Upgrade project will be performed on Routes 39 and 37 in the towns of New Milford, New Fairfield, and Sherman.
The project consists of upgrading existing wood-pole guide rail systems to current safety standard systems. Locations are Route 39 from Route 55 to Route 37, Route 37 from Route 7 to Route 39 and Route 39 from the New Fairfield town line to Route 37. The upgrades are scheduled to begin on or about Monday, April 25, 2022, and continue thru Friday, June 10, 2022.
