Don't Miss the Lower Valley Job Fair on June 30!

State Representative Kara Rochelle (D – Ansonia/Derby) and Senator Jorge Cabrera (D – Hamden) are partnering with The WorkPlace, Career Resources, and the American Job Center to host the Lower Valley Job Fair on Thursday, June 30 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Ansonia High School. The event will feature over 60 employers from a variety of industries for various skillsets, pay scales, and hours.

There will also be free professional headshots, free resume coaching, information on workforce training opportunities, and so much more to equip residents in the Lower Valley with nearly everything they need to land good-paying jobs. In addition to helpful career services, numerous community-based organizations and resources will be in attendance to ensure residents can secure advancement in the workforce.

Everyone is invited to attend this FREE event. From students looking to land their first summer job to seniors hoping to update their skills or to find a part-time job during retirement, there will a variety of resources to help jobseekers get started in a new job or field. Dress for Success will be on-site providing clothing options so candidates can feel confident going into a job interview. Attendees are encouraged to bring their resumes to share with employers and to workshop. However, a resume is not mandatory.

Whether someone is unemployed, underemployed, or looking to make the transition to a new career, this Job Fair will connect jobseekers to the support they need to gain valuable training, experience, and more. Whatever your goals are, you'll be able to access a wealth of information to help you get closer to reaching them. I’m thankful for the amazing team we've assembled to bring this important event together to help the residents of Ansonia, Derby and the Lower Valley get back into the workforce. I hope our community will attend this great event,” said Rep. Rochelle.

Free transportation to and from the event will be available via a shuttle making strategic stops in Ansonia and Derby. There will also be refreshments compliments of Griffin Hospital, raffle prizes, and more. Anyone seeking new professional opportunities is invited to attend.
