Millions Approved for Bridgeport Projects

December 9, 2022

I thank Governor Ned Lamont, Speaker Matt Ritter and Majority Leader Jason Rojas for their support of this funding and look forward to the improvements. I would also like to thank Community Investment Fund (CIF) panel members Rep. Antonio Felipe and Sen. Marilyn Moore for their tireless advocacy on behalf of Bridgeport.

The CIF, a program established in statute in 2021, has the goal of unlocking economic potential in underserved communities by promoting economic and community development in Connecticut’s Public Investment Communities and Alliance Districts.

Projects included in this round of funding:

• Baldwin Holdings: Phase I of affordable housing development at former public housing complex site to add 50 mixed-income units. $1,756,164

• East Main St. Revitalization Association: Planning grant for streetscape program to elevate the potential of small businesses along East Main Street. $750,000
