Rep. Farrar Named Vice Chair of the Finance, Revenue & Bonding Committee and Deputy Majority Leader

Representative Kate Farrar was appointed as Vice Chair of the Finance, Revenue & Bonding Committee and Deputy Majority Leader by Speaker of the House Matt Ritter and Majority Leader Jason Rojas. 

"Rep. Farrar has proven herself to be a dedicated public servant and I am sure she will be an asset as Vice Chair to the Finance, Revenue & Bonding Committee. I know the committee is in good hands and look forward to the important work ahead," Speaker Ritter said.

The Finance, Revenue & Bonding Committee has jurisdiction over all matters relating to finance, revenue, capital bonding, fees, and taxation.

"Rep. Farrar began her service in the legislature with over 20 years’ experience as a non-profit advocate professional and champion for policies that support educational and economic empowerment for women and girls. She came into office with a strong understanding of the legislative process which has been an invaluable asset, helping her to quickly become a leader to her colleagues," Majority Leader Rojas said.

The Deputy Majority Leaders work with Majority Leader Rojas to review legislation that has been voted favorably out of committee or the Senate and prepares the bills for action on the House floor.

In addition to serving as Vice Chair on the Finance Committee, Representative Farrar will also serve as a member of the Higher Education & Employment Advancement Committee, and the Transportation Committee.
