Welcome! Legislative & Local Updates for the Week Ending January 13, 2023

January 16, 2023
Dear Neighbor,

On Wednesday, January 4th, I was sworn into the Connecticut General Assembly as the State Representative for the 149th District. I will be serving on the Appropriations, Government Administration & Elections, and Transportation Committees. As your state representative, I look forward to serving you. It is my goal to work to make Connecticut a better place to live, work, and raise a family.

Some of my priorities are to:

  • Continue the progress underway in CT that is making our state financially and economically stronger and creating more opportunities for all of us;
  • Get a fair share of state funding for our district;
  • Cut taxes for working and middle class families;
  • Reduce electricity costs for consumers;
  • Increase access to affordable, quality healthcare;
  • Improve our education system to make sure our children have the tools they need to succeed;
  • Address early voting in the state so Connecticut can join 46 other states in making it easier for people to vote.

Throughout the session, please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of assistance to you or your family. It is an honor to serve as your state representative and I look forward to hearing from you about ways we can improve CT for all of us.

Climate change is dramatically impacting the resources that we all depend on and value, such as water, energy, air, agriculture, and ecosystems. Communities of color and other marginalized groups often have the highest exposure and the fewest resources to respond to the impacts of climate change. The panel will explore these climate challenges in Connecticut today, the disparate impacts of climate change on vulnerable communities, and offer solutions for a more equitable and just response to climate change in Connecticut.
