Joining a National Task Force on Mental Health

January 20, 2023

I'm proud to announce that I will be serving on a national task force addressing mental health with some of the country's most influential advocates. I will be part of the National Task Force on Workforce Mental Health Policy, which consists of 40 legislative, executive, and judicial state policymakers who have championed solutions for mental health, disability, and workforce issues.

I will be serving on a subcommittee focusing on non-discrimination, parity, and benefits. Our goal is to find, discuss, and develop new standards for job seekers and employees with mental health conditions. We also want to address the shortage of behavioral health care workers. As part of my role, I will be sharing my experiences supporting workers who continue to struggle with mental health.

The task force is in collaboration with the Council of State Governments, the National Conference of State Legislators and the U.S. Department of Labor's State Exchange on Employment and Disability.

I will be heading to Charleston, South Carolina for our first of two in-person meetings on January 26 and 27. It is an honor to serve on this incredible task force to address mental health in our country. I am looking forward to tackling our mission head-on. Let's get to work!
