There will be a public hearing before the Public Health Committee on Wednesday, February 1st, 2023 at 11 a.m. in the Legislative Office Building, Room 2B, or over Zoom and YouTube Live. The AGENDA can be found on the website at www.cga.ct.gov.
Bills on the docket that might be of interest to you include:

  • S.B. No. 897 An Act Concerning a Patient's Directions Regarding Life Support Systems.
  • S.B. No. 898 An Act Eliminating the Requirement that the Probate Court Issue an Order Allowing a Patient who is Incapable of Giving Informed Consent to Receive Shock Therapy.
  • S.B. No. 899 An Act Concerning Title Protection for Physicians.
  • S.B. No. 919 An Act Establishing a Task Force to Study Childhood and Adult Psychosis.
  • H.B. No. 5246 An Act Allowing for The Disposal of Dead Human Bodies Through Natural Organic Reduction.
  • H.B. No. 6488 An Act Concerning Cigarettes, Tobacco Products, Electronic Nicotine Delivery Systems and Vapor Products

Additionally, there will be a public hearing before the General Law Committee on Thursday, February 2nd, 2023 at 10 a.m. in the Legislative Office Building, Room 2C, or over Zoom and YouTube Live. The AGENDA can be found on the website at www.cga.ct.gov.

The agenda is comprised solely of: H.B. No. 5918 AN ACT AUTHORIZING GROCERY STORES TO SELL CIDER AND SMALL WINERY WINES, which would: (1) Expand the existing grocery store beer permit to include sales of (A) cider, and (B) wine manufactured by small wineries; and (2) specify that a grocery store may not sell cider or small winery wine if such store is located within one thousand feet of a package store.

I know that this is an issue that many of you are interested in, and I encourage you to submit testimony. If you are interested in testifying on this issue, you can sign up to REGISTER TO SPEAK or SUBMIT WRITTEN TESTIMONY.
