Let's Talk About It: "Look, Ma! No Hands!"

April 7, 2023

We are talking about a new book from a former Willimantic resident on my weekly public affairs radio show, “Let’s Talk About It.” Author Dr. Doe Hentschel smashed both her elbows in a bicycle accident ten days after accepting a job at UConn. She describes the account, her path to recovery, and the lessons she learned in her book “Look, Ma! No Hands!”

Dr. Hentschel’s granddaughter, Courtney Davis, is the book’s illustrator. She also joined the show to talk about how she got involved in this project. Dr. Hentschel will hold a book signing at the Windham History and Textile Museum on Main Street on Saturday, April 15 from 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. You can buy the book in person for $20.
