Celebrating in the Community

Last weekend, our community held a number of great events. I was so happy to get out and join in the celebration, and see many of you! As session starts to ramp up, I wanted to take a week to - take a breath - and highlight these gatherings!

Earth Day
Last Saturday I had a chilly but great time at the Hamden Earth Day Celebration! My daughters and I (eldest daughter eluded photographs!) helped paint the new mural for the library, ate an entire (delicious) pizza, got great gardening tips from the Spring Glen Garden Club, bought a new library bag, and talked trees, birds, and seeds!
 
Yom Hashoah

I remember.

It was my honor to attend the Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven Yom Hashoah Commemoration this week.

To hear from and see Holocaust survivors and their descendants, and to be reminded of our shared responsibility to bear witness and learn from these horrific acts was an experience I will not soon forget. I encourage everyone to participate in the final event tonight.
