SPEAKING IN THE HOUSE CHAMBER

Last week, I defended Early Voting as I spoke in the House Chamber for the very first time. Giving residents more opportunities to cast a ballot expands our democracy to ensure that every vote matters in Connecticut. Allowing early voting is about fairness and reflects the realities of hectic modern-day life.

Early voting will make our democracy stronger

WEIR PARK VISIT WITH SEN. MURPHY

Tomorrow, I will tour Weir Farm National Historic Park with Senator Chris Murphy. We will walk the grounds in Wilton with Park Superintendent Linda Cook starting at 12:30 pm.

Weir Farm opened for the season last week with free tours of the Weir House, Weir Studio, and Young Studio. In 2020, Sen. Murphy helped pass legislation designating Weir Farm as a National Historic Park. I look forward to speaking with Sen. Murphy while learning more about our wonderful park.

CONGRATS TO TOP WILTON SCHOLAR!

I congratulate Lukas Koutsoukos on being named a 2023 U.S. Presidential Scholar! Lukas is a senior at Wilton High School and is being honored for his accomplishments in academics. Being recognized as a U.S. Presidential Scholar is one of the country’s top honors for graduating high school seniors.

In addition to leading the Middlebrook Quiz Bowl Club, Lukas is the director of public relations at Emperor Tutoring. It’s a group of high school students with a passion for teaching. Lukas tutors several subjects including math, writing, and French. He also plays the viola and gives music lessons!

Senator Ceci Maher and I are inviting Lukas to the State Capitol in recognition of his outstanding academic achievements, dedication to helping others, and impressive leadership. We look forward to meeting and congratulating him in person!
