REMINDER: Lower Valley Job Fair on Thursday!

June 20, 2023

If you or someone you know is looking for work, please join me as I host the Lower Valley Job Fair on Thursday, June 22 from 1 p.m - 5 p.m. at Ansonia High School with more than 60 employers who are looking to hire.

The Lower Valley Job Fair will feature companies from a multitude of industries offering jobs with a variety of pay scales and work schedules. I'm partnering with The WorkPlace, Career Resources, the American Job Center, the Connecticut Department of Labor, and the Connecticut Office of Workforce Strategy to offer this free event to the community.

A wide range of employers, apprenticeship programs, and job training opportunities will be featured at this fair. Staff from the Connecticut Building Trades Training Institute, CareerConneCT, and PACT will be on hand to connect people to meaningful pathways to get trained for high-demand fields. Over 60 employers will be in attendance as well, from diverse fields such as healthcare, transportation, social services, education, construction, banking, manufacturing, and more. Job offerings will range from entry level to advanced, and all who are interested in seeing their career options are encouraged to attend.

Staff from the Connecticut Office of Workforce Strategy will be on hand to highlight the 19 different free job training tracts available through CareerConneCT. The Connecticut General Assembly and the governor’s office created this statewide initiative to help Connecticut residents whose jobs were eliminated by the pandemic and subsequent shifts in workforce demand to re-skill for high-demand fields seeking workers, such as manufacturing, bioscience, and healthcare.

Whether you’re looking for a job, an upgrade, or just to see what’s out there, this fair is for you. Special features include free headshots, information on various free apprenticeship and higher education programs, resume and interview coaching, free door prizes and lunch, and more. Don’t miss this one!

Dress for Success and Stephanie’s Closet will be on-site providing business attire to those who may need it. Everyone who plans on attending is encouraged to bring several copies of their resume to share with employers.
