I'm pleased to give you an update on the state budget. Last week, the Governor signed it into law after being passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate. 

Senator Kushner, Representative Allie-Brennan, Representative Godfrey, and I have been working hard on behalf of Danbury to ensure that our state budget will be used effectively and efficiently. Our efforts have resulted in tangible benefits for the residents of our community.

This balanced, bipartisan budget maintains our commitment to promoting fiscal responsibility and stability to continue strengthening our economy. It delivers the largest income tax cut in the state's history and significant increases in funding for local schools. 

Although this is a substantial budget, some areas could use improvement. I firmly believe that higher education and or non-profits need more support, but I remain committed to doing everything we can to support these vital aspects of our community.
