June's 109th Spotlight

June 30, 2023

As your state representative, I am proud to serve Danbury and all of the incredible individuals who call it home. For this month's 109th Spotlight, I want to recognize Frankie DeMunda, a devoted woodworker who has dedicated countless hours to perfecting his craft. However, what makes him truly exceptional is that he uses his profits to give back to the community.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, he was creating one-of-a-kind pieces and utilizing the proceeds to generously contribute to both the fire and police departments, as well as buying lunches for families in need.

In April 2020, Frankie created and sold 35 wooden Easter bunnies, making a $250 profit. He then used these funds to purchase 50 lunches from Pippa's Sports Cafe for Danbury Hospital workers.

Frankie's unwavering commitment to his craft and his active contributions to the community are truly a source of inspiration. Given his impressive devotion to both, we are incredibly fortunate to have him as an integral member of the 109th District.

I am absolutely thrilled with the customized cornhole set that Frankie crafted for me. His personalized touch and attention to detail make this a true treasure that I will not only cherish and keep on display but also use for countless hours of fun with family and friends.

It's important that we come together as a community and celebrate the individuals who make our district such a special place. I encourage you all to take a moment to learn more about Frankie, his work, and his contributions by following his Facebook page
