Free Museum Admission for Kids this Summer

July 12, 2023

Over 120 museums throughout Connecticut are offering free admission for children this summer.

Under the Connecticut Summer at the Museum program, kids 18 and under, along with an accompanying adult, are eligible for free admission to any participating museum.

The wide variety of museums includes historic homes, art and children’s museums, science centers, natural history museums, college and university museums, as well as gardens, and zoos.

The program kicked off July 1, and runs through Labor Day Monday, September 4. Click here for a complete list of participating museums.

This is a great opportunity for families to take advantage of our state's wonderful museums and cultural institutions this summer.

Beginning its third year, the program was created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic as an outlet to offer children an enhanced summer learning experience. It is paid for using federal funding received from the American Rescue Plan Act.

We hope you plan a visit soon to one or more of our state's incredible museums and that your family enjoys exploring Connecticut's wonderful history, art and culture.

Certain restrictions may apply, such as capacity and blocked dates for special events. Please check a museum’s website or call ahead to learn of any limits before visiting.
