New Direct Flight from New Haven to Puerto Rico

There is a new direct flight connecting Southern Connecticut to Puerto Rico in an affordable and convenient way! Avelo Airlines announced it is offering nonstop service from Tweed-New Haven Airport to San Juan starting on November 15. Introductory one-way fares start at $99. Flights will take off on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

This new route is a great option for those who want to travel from Waterbury to the Caribbean because Tweed-New Haven is a more convenient option compared to Bradley International Airport. There will be high demand for this flight given the presence of a sizeable and expanding Puerto Rican community in our state. The new flight to San Juan will allow friends and family to easily reunite, and it will get more tourists to experience the beauty of Puerto Rico for the first time. The hope is for Avelo or another airline to keep growing and eventually offer a direct flight to Ponce from Southern Connecticut.

This announcement will provide a boost to Avelo Airlines, Tweed-New Haven Airport, and the local economy. Avelo now offers 18 nonstop destinations from Southern Connecticut spanning seven states and, of course, Puerto Rico.
