Dear Neighbor,

I hope you're doing well. I want to share some upcoming events happening this month in the 50th District.

We are honored to have Connecticut's Kid Governor visit Babcock Library on Saturday, September 16th. Additionally, there will be an important Public Informational Meeting focused on the Air Line Trail Reconstruction and Accessibility Project later on in the month on Thursday, September 21st

I encourage you all to mark your calendars and join us for these upcoming events!

Connecticut's Kid Governor
I'm excited to share that Connecticut's Kid GovernorElisavet “Ellie” Mendez, will be visiting Ashford's own Babcock Library (25 Pompey Hollow Rd) on Saturday, September 16th at 9:30 AM! This is a great opportunity for our community to meet and interact with our state's young leader.

Connecticut's Kid Governor allows fifth-grade students to run for the position of Kid Governor. This unique program aims to teach young people about civics, leadership, and the importance of making a positive impact in their communities.

I want to encourage you to bring your friends and family to this special event. This is a chance for children and adults alike to learn more about Connecticut's government and inspire future leaders.

Air Line Trail Reconstruction & Accessibility Project
As some of you may know, Pomfret and Putnam are working with the State of Connecticut on the State Project 111-126 - Air Line Trail Reconstruction & Accessibility Project. The purpose of this is to improve the trail surface from the Kiosk in Pomfret to a connection to the River Trail in Putnam.

A Public Informational Meeting is scheduled for the project on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at the Municipal Complex (200 School St, Putnam). Presentation of the plans will begin at 6:00 PM followed by public discussion, questions, and answers.

If you plan on attending virtually, you can use this link. The Meeting ID is 881 1664 5123. Documents and plans for the project can be found here.

This meeting is a great opportunity to address any concerns or questions you may have. It's crucial that we hear your thoughts and opinions as they play a vital role in shaping this project.

As your voice in Hartford, I need to hear from you to make informed decisions.
