In addition, you can register now for a prescription drug discount card that promises to deliver major savings at pharmacies in Connecticut. Scroll down to see what information you need to provide to sign up.

I praise leaders in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island for coming together to sign a groundbreaking agreement for multi-state offshore wind procurement. The deal, which is the first of its kind in the United States, allows all three states to look for multi-state offshore wind proposals to foster regional economic development.

Governor Lamont also unveiled Connecticut’s first strategic roadmap for offshore wind that boosts local economies while supporting the environment.

I applaud Governor Ned Lamont, his team, and everyone else involved in getting a deal done for this multi-state agreement on offshore wind. I hope that in this quest to protect every living being against climate change, our state governments will each recognize that the Ocean is the climate regulator. I also urge them to recognize that damaging the Ocean by pile driving steel pipes into the seafloor is not the way to go. Instead, we should be developing, creating, and building concrete gravity bases at home in New England with our own labor, which will help us create thousands of jobs and a new economy.

It is crucial our state governments recognize the need for our Oceanic Wildlife to thrive and remain safe as we use the Ocean winds to produce energy. If we harm the fragile mechanics behind oxygen production, carbon absorption, and maintaining biodiversity, such as killing one pregnant North Atlantic Right Whale or a calf, we might doom countless aquatic species. Extinction is perpetual. If we are successful with our new agreement, we will forever change how these species work together to produce Oxygen and again absorb carbon and maintain the biodiversity.

If in the name of fighting climate change we destroy our oceanic life support system, we will be doing the opposite of what’s best for our survival and most likely help precipitate climate destruction.

If you're a victim of domestic violence, reach out because there are people who could save your life.

    Paying Down Pension Debt

Connecticut transferred more than $1.3 billion to pay down its long-term pension debt.

Since the legislature enacted the state's "fiscal guardrails" in 2017, more than $7 billion in excess contributions captured from volatile revenue sources have been made to pay down pension debt, resulting in far-reaching savings for Connecticut taxpayers.

Future generations will save more than $600 million per year over the next 25 years while supporting retirement benefits for teachers, state troopers, nurses, correction officers, and more.

While enormous progress has been made in addressing our long-term liabilities, more work remains. What we have achieved is benefitting taxpayers today and long into the future.

    Shemini Atzeret
As Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah approach, I'm wishing all who are celebrating a Chag Sameach!

    Indigenous Peoples' Day
For generations, federal policies systematically sought to assimilate and displace Native people and eradicate Native cultures. On Monday, we recognize Indigenous peoples’ resilience and strength as well as the immeasurable positive impact that they have made on every aspect of American society.
