IOREBTA Program funds annually support appraisal gap financing for first-time homebuyers, development of affordable housing projects, counseling for low- and moderate-income homebuyers, and second mortgage down payment assistance when the Down Payment Assistance Program (DAP) Loan was suspended. The IOREBTA Program has also funded the purchase of mortgages from Connecticut chapters of Habitat for Humanity and other housing subsidies. This year's grant awards include help for intellectual and developmental disability (IDD) and Veterans' housing, low-income and affordable housing and homelessness assistance and prevention programs.
The $15,000 in IOREBTA funds for TEAM, Inc. will go to residents experiencing housing hardship.
Throughout my time as a state legislator, I’ve advocated tirelessly for TEAM, Inc. to get the funding they deserve, including helping them secure $100,000 for various purposes like the Client Relief Fund, HBCU tours, and the MLK community mural in our most recent legislative session. TEAM, Inc. is one of the most important community organizations in the Valley, and I’m so proud to see them get these much-deserved funds. This organization will directly impact the lives of those grappling with housing hardship, which is a critical issue we must work toward solving.
Thank you to the Housing Advisory Panel, including State Rep. Geoff Luxenberg, Co-Chair of the Housing Committee and Panel, for approving these grants and recognizing that TEAM, Inc. is dedicated to helping our community.
