If you have been fired or put on unpaid leave from your job with the federal government, the state of Connecticut is ready to help.

The Connecticut Department of Labor has brought together several programs and services to assist residents who have lost their jobs with the federal government. There are approximately 18,800 federal employees working in Connecticut.

While the Trump administration may have turned its back on you, Connecticut appreciates your contributions and employers here are eager to benefit from your expertise. There are an estimated 70,000 job openings in the state.

Federal Workers

Information specifically designed to help displaced federal workers and contractors is available on the CTDOL website. This includes how to file for unemployment benefits, as well as career services.
Though the Trump administration may not want these workers, in our state we value their public service and Connecticut employers can use their experience and skills.

Job placement and career services are also provided to all Connecticut residents at no cost through the American Job Centers. Services include resume writing, career workshops, job search assistance, and help for veterans transitioning to the civilian workforce.
