Great news! The CIF board has allocated $5 million to Danbury to help revitalize their downtown streets.
The funds will be put towards phase II of the Downtown Danbury's Revitalization: Streetscapes for the Future Project. It will enhance pedestrian and streetscape features such as improved sidewalks, ramps, crosswalks, solar parking kiosks, paving repairs, signage, and landscaping along key streets, including Main Street (Route 53) from Boughton Street to Crosby Street, Liberty Street from Main Street to Patriot Drive, Independence Way, White Street from Ives Street to Main Street, a portion of Elm Street, Post Office Walk, and Kennedy Avenue.
This funding will revitalize our already thriving community. Danbury is rapidly increasing in population, and we should make changes to our infrastructure to reflect our growth. More walkable area will allow residents and visitors to travel around our city safely. Thank you to the CIF Board for this funding. |
